About

Where it started

Realistic projects for real backyards

Most outdoor guides assume acreage and unlimited budgets. OutdoorCrafted was started to show what a single weekend, standard lumber, and everyday tools can build in a compact yard.

Our focus is water-wise raised beds and self-watering planters that make edible gardening possible in tight urban spaces.

How every plan is tested

From measurement to verified build

01

Measure the space

Each plan starts with the real footprint, sun exposure, and access of a small yard, not an idealized layout.

02

Select rot-resistant cedar

We specify untreated, rot-resistant cedar and standard lumber dimensions so the cuts and parts are easy to source.

03

Assemble sub-irrigation

Self-watering reservoirs and wicking details are built into the plan, with soil health and drainage addressed from the start.

04

Verify stability

Every build is checked for level, joinery strength, and load before it is published as a guide readers can trust.
